Gibson's Ultimate Bagpipe Starter Kit
Start learning with this ultimate beginner kit. This kit features your choice of Gibson practice chanter, two (2) replacement practice chanter reeds, a small spool of waxed hemp, soft practice chanter case, instructional music book "Beginning the Bagpipe" by Pipe Major Sandy Jones, and CD to follow along to. This is everything you need to learn how to play the bagpipes, though a personal instructor is always recommended. Just add an aspiring piper!
Practice Chanter Options:
Long - Our Long Poly Practice Chanter is our best-selling model. It combines exceptional tone with durability and comfort. Overall assembled length is 20 inches.
Short - Our Short / Regular Length Poly Practice Chanter is an affordable option to start with and is great for kids or those with a smaller stature. The finger hole spacing is identical to our other models, but the chanter has less length at the bottom. Overall assembled length is 17 inches.
Poly w/ Nickel - Our Long Poly Practice Chanter w/ Engraved Nickel provides the same great tone and durability as our Long Poly Practice Chanter, but with some added bling. The solid engraved nickel sole (at the base of the chanter) and ferrule (on the top section of the chanter) feature a Celtic Knot pattern which won’t go unnoticed, and also add some weight to the chanter. Overall assembled length is 20 inches.
Cocobolo w/ Imitation Ivory - For those who want more from their practice chanter, our wooden practice chanter models are second-to-none. The Cocobolo models offer a nice, mellow tone, along with unique patterns in the defined grain of this wood. This model features a light-weight imitation ivory sole (at the base of the chanter) and a stainless steel ferrule (on the top section of the chanter).
Cocobolo w/ Engraved Nickel - Our Cocobolo Practice Chanter with a solid engraved nickel sole (at the base of the chanter) and ferrule (on the top section of the chanter) featuring a Celtic Knot engraving pattern. Blackwood w/ Imitation Ivory - Our African Blackwood Practice Chanters deliver a clean, crisp tone which is more crisp than Cocobolo, but warmer than Poly. African Blackwood is a very dense and dark wood, with tight grain lines and less grain definition than Cocobolo. This model features a light-weight imitation ivory sole (at the base of the chanter) and a stainless steel ferrule (on the top section of the chanter).
